Accepted!

August 5, 2010

I’m officially accepted into the 2010 Photography Program!!! :D

As far as I understand, I can only use someone as a model once throughout the year so I’ll be looking for lots of willing people to model for me.

Want to be a model for me? All you gotta do is join my Facebook Group.

I’ll be posting my assignments up on my group and if you feel you’d be comfortable with it all you gotta do is comment on the post or shoot me a message and we’ll work the details out. :) The same goes for if you know any of your friends or family that you think would wanna help me out just invite them to the group.

EDIT: I should also mention that if you model for me, any pictures that surface or turn out nicely you’re more than welcome to use for yourself providing you give me some credit. :)

Anyway,
Thanks guys! Wish me luck in the new school year!

May 19, 2010.

May 19, 2010

I was out at a local park last week and it was gorgeous out, so of course all the cars were there. :) A guy pulled up in my [almost] dream car and there was no way I wasn’t taking pictures of it. It’s such an epic car. I know a lot of people aren’t fans of the Mach1s very much, and it’s not my all time favourite Mustang (the ’67 Fastback gets that vote) but it’s still gorgeous enough to make my voice go all high-pitched run over to it. Among the Mach1 some other regulars were out. Scott’s SRT4, Rushton’s S2000, Chris’ prelude, Scott’s 350z, etc..

You can check out the rest of the photos from this week on my Flickr page.

It’s so nice that Summer’s back and all the nice cars are out again. It’s also nice not getting up to scrape your car off, sliding all over the road, freezing and seeing cars covered in salt. Summers finally back! :)

Image Thanks to Paul Mckinnon! (Check him out on MM and DA!)

If you live (or have lived) in Halifax, or the surrounding area, there’s no doubt in my mind that you quite often find yourself wondering how to cure your boredom.

This list started off as something I do every year before Summer comes to help me out. I always end up losing it and never using it, so this year I decided to put it online. Since most of the people that read this blog are my friends and family and are locals, I thought this might help you guys out as well.

If you have any other suggestions that I could add feel free to let me know!

From Halifax, follow Highway 101 towards Annapolis Valley. Look for gated logging road (unpaved) on left side, roughly 3 km before the Ellerhouse Overpass. Park on road side and walk down the access road until you see bridge across Dawson Brook. Just before bridge a path forks right into woods. Follow this right path along bank of brook until you hear the waterfall.
  68. Victoria Falls in Truro. What a gorgeous park that is.

Final Poster Edit.

April 16, 2010

Maritime Conservatory Poster Final Well, this is the final project for my History of Design class. This is also my final edit. A classmate of mine found a spelling error in the other one, which reminds me again why you should get people to check over your work before you hand it in. I also made some of the copy under the main title a bit smaller. When I printed it out it just looked like crap, but it’s all fixed now. My teacher keeps telling me to get away from turquoise so I ended up going with the mauve purple colour. You can’t really see it that well, but there’s a floral texture under everything. When you print it out it looks fantastic. :) I’m really happy with it. I was also thinking about making this into a desktop wallpaper but I just haven’t got around to it yet.

Everything in school is winding down. We’re all handing out last assignments in, trying to bump our marks up and making plans for an outing we can have. It’s kinda sad, you spend two years with a bunch of awesome people and then all the sudden school’s over. :( We’re having a pizza party in class today in lieu of a client we picked up a few weeks ago for a horse logo. Mm, nothing like free pizza.

In other news, this time next week I’ll be (well, right now sleeping) in another province at a car show. I’m not bringing any homework or any type of work with me. Although by then I shouldn’t have any, anyway. I can’t wait to just have a few days to do nothing.

Spring cleaning.

April 14, 2010

My favourite time of the year.

I cleaned out a spare room that we’ve had in the house and made it into my ‘art’ room. All my art supplies, homework assignments, bulletin board stuff and everything is in it now. I put my desk in there as well a huge white bookshelf unit to put a bunch of junk on. My room is now less cluttered! Fantastic. I got rid of a bunch of clothes, everyone in the house went through old stuff and we made a ‘yard sale’ pile in our shed for the next warm up coming weekend.

As for the website, I got rid of the dark and dreary winter ‘colours’ and added a touch of Spring. :)

I’m redoing a few of my other pages, one being the links section that I’m completely wiping and starting from scratch. If you’d like to be added please send me a message!

I’ve also opened my comments back up. Hopefully the spamming will have died down a bit.
