We’re doing a group project at school for a local non-profit. It has to do with helping out people with all types of disabilities trying to start up a business. We basically had to do a whole re-brand for them. A girl and I from my class came up with what we think was a pretty good idea, I’ll get the rest of it up as we finish but for now, here is the logo I designed for it :
The rest of the campaign is based around the shape of the logo and everything else ties into it.
Just a bit of what I’ve been up to in the past few days.
If you’re into photography and use either Nikon or Canon this is a definite must watch.
We had an assignment where we had to design some sort of restaurant menu. I picked to do an organic Cafe. I went out and bought some recycled paper and my teacher got me a lighter version of the paper and this is what I came up with.
*Please excuse my crappy photography at the moment. I’m kind of in a hurry as I have a ton of other things I need to squeeze into the next few hours!
I started out by looking at a ton of other people’s menus that they’ve designed over the year. I picked out a few ideas from different ones that I liked.
Then I moved onto doing the logo. It took me all of hmm 10 minutes. I went on to http://kuler.adobe.com/ and found a colour scheme I liked.
I can’t remember where I came up with the name, but I somehow got “Gaia” and used a handwritten font for the name of the restaurant and then my favourite, Helvetica, for all the other type.
I mocked up a business card and made a place right on top when you open up the menu.
Two weeks later, presto!
